The need for a helicopter in Upington became stronger during the last few months, especially for tourism and wildlife management services.  Kriek Helicopters sourced a helicopter from a private owner in Upington to cater for clients in the Upington area.  Kriek Helicopters operates its own R44 Raven II machine in the Kimberley region and has excellent safety standards and service levels.
Other helicopter operations can also be arranged by the sister company “Heli Alliance” which has access to helicopters in Kimberley, Upington, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Mossel Bay, George, East-London, Port Elizabeth, Zambia and Botswana.

The first game count operation in Upington was completed on 23 June 2008 shortly after adding the new helicopter to the existing operating certificate.  The machine is piloted by Johann Kriek, a commercial helicopter pilot and director of Kriek Helicopters, during all commercial operations.
The new helicopter will be used for game counts & survey, photography, site inspections, filming and executive transport.  The machine is based at Upington International Airport which is ideal for transporting hunters to game farms and lodges.  The machine is fitted with air-conditioning and luxurious leather interior.
